When I first became a Marketer, I would say it was during a transitional period in marketing. I mean marketing is always evolving so maybe that’s a moot point, but I remember quite big shifts in approach during the early 2010s.
Social Media: Two words so often used together that they barely still enjoy existence as individual words.
And these words have come to define such a broad category. The first time I really became aware of the term ‘social media’ was during the early days of Facebook.
To a large extent marketing has always been about priorities. I would argue that the majority of marketing practices will result in a positive Return on Investment [ROI] to some degree. And whilst some activities become obsolete, in general the nett number of options available to businesses increase every year.
